Dr. Denise Couture D.C.
I received my doctorate of chiropractic from National College of Chiropractic.
I became a certified chiropractic sports physician shortly after starting my private practice. This allowed me to give more expertise advice in treating athletes and their specific injuries.
I was appointed as one of five chiropractors in the state to serve on the Maine Board of Chiropractic Licensure. An honor given by the governor. I served on the Board for 8 years as the complaint officer.
Chiropractic is an extremely fulfilling profession. Everyday, I help patients reach their optimal health potential, there is nothing more rewarding in life. I truly love what I do-its not a job but a gift I give to others.
I am fortunate enough to live in Maine with my husband and two children. We love the ocean community and the friendly people. My hobbies include spending time with family, skiing, camping and exercising.
The adjusting techniques utilized by Dr. Couture are diversified, Thompson drop, intersegmental traction for disc injuries and various gentle mobilization techniques.

Massage can change your life, just like it did mine. After working in the healthcare field with patients who suffer chronic, sometimes debilitating pain, I decided to go back to school and continue my education. I chose a Therapeutic Massage program because I've experienced the effectiveness of massage at relieving chronic pain, and I'm ready to put my skills to work for you.
Soft tissue therapies can help patients avoid surgery and other invasive interventions; they can also help relieve chronic or acute pain and lessen a patient's need for medication.
Whether you're suffering a recent injury or a chronic condition, massage can help. The techniques I use go beyond Swedish massage which is designed for relaxation. I utilize multiple manual therapies in my practice such as myofascial stretching, Trigger Point therapy, deep-tissue massage, and range of motion techniques including PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation), stretching, and positional release.
I have been a massage therapist since 2008. I am passionate about
this profession as it allows me to make a difference in patients with
chronic pain to provide relief. I feel I have a purpose and add value
to a patient’s health. Massage therapy offers relief from back
pain, knee pain , stiff joints , sciatica , stress and injuries.
On a regular
basis massage therapy is an important part of ones total health care.
It boosts and strengthens our immune system. The combined advantage
of both a relaxed mind and body . I utilize Swedish techniques
incorporating deep tissue , trigger point therapy, stretching and
foot reflexology. I intuitively work with the body to get the most
effective results.
