Dr. Denise Couture D.C.
I received my doctorate of chiropractic from National College of Chiropractic.
I became a certified chiropractic sports physician shortly after starting my private practice. This allowed me to give more expertise advice in treating athletes and there specific injuries.
I was appointed as one of five chiropractors in the state to serve on the Maine Board of Chiropractic Licensure. An honor given by the governor. I served on the Board for 8 years as the complaint officer.
I am also a member of the Maine Chiropractic Association and have served as the treasurer.
Chiropractic is an extremely fulfilling profession. Everyday, I help patients reach their optimal health potential, there is nothing more rewarding in life. I truly love what I do-its not a job but a gift I give to others.
I am fortunate enough to live in Maine with my husband and two children. We love the ocean community and the friendly people. My hobbies include spending time with family, skiing, camping and exercising.
The adjusting techniques utilized by Dr. Couture are diversified, Thompson drop, intersegmental traction for disc injuries and various gentle mobilization techniques.

Food holds the power to transform our lives and the way we feel every single day. My mission is to empower you with the knowledge and skills to make food choices that best support your body for optimal function and health. Choosing what to eat doesn't have to be hard or overwhelming--I'm here to help!
As a Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, my speciality is investigating potential imbalances in the body that may be contributing to symptoms like chronic pain, fatigue, digestive upset, hormonal imbalances, poor mental focus, and weight management issues, amongst many others. I utilize food as medicine to return the body to increased function and always respect the body as a whole, never chasing the symptom but always the underlying cause. A food journal, nutritional assessment questionnaire, health history/interview, and hands-on functional evaluation are all tools I utilize to develop highly individualized plans. It's my passion to guide others on their health journey--there is no greater reward for me.
In addition to being certified by the Nutritional Therapy Association I hold a B.S. in Kinesiology from Arizona State University and am a Certified Personal Trainer. I am a Maine native and huge lover of the outdoors!

Victoria Deane L.Ac.
Victoria completed her master's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, California. While interning as an acupuncturist at the National Hospital of Integrative Medicine in Hanoi, Vietnam, she worked with doctors in clinical rotations to treat both acute and chronic pain – strengthening her love of Eastern medicine, travel, and adventure.
Victoria believes in a holistic healthcare model. This method addresses each person as a whole and treats the root cause of illnesses, versus merely diagnosing and treating individual symptoms. We explore what's "underneath the surface" – relieving pain and addressing mental, emotional and physical blockages. It's her mission to educate and empower her patients on how to take control of their health by integrating dietary and lifestyle changes.
Today, Victoria lives in Portland, Maine where she enjoys art, biking, hiking, spending time outdoors and using her passion for whole foods to cook nutrient-dense meals.
Massage can change your life, just like it did mine. After working in the healthcare field with patients who suffer chronic, sometimes debilitating pain, I decided to go back to school and continue my education. I chose a Therapeutic Massage program because I've experienced the effectiveness of massage at relieving chronic pain, and I'm ready to put my skills to work for you.
Soft tissue therapies can help patients avoid surgery and other invasive interventions; they can also help relieve chronic or acute pain and lessen a patient's need for medication.
Whether you're suffering a recent injury or a chronic condition, massage can help. The techniques I use go beyond Swedish massage which is designed for relaxation. I utilize multiple manual therapies in my practice such as myofascial stretching, Trigger Point therapy, deep-tissue massage, and range of motion techniques including PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation), stretching, and positional release.
